Ed Norris, Ed Ed Norris,

December 11, 2003

(update. september 29 2005)

This site is not a reliable source of scholarly or even necessarily accurate information. This site is what is known as a weblog. On the day that Edward T. Norris was indicted on corruption charges, I posted this entry for the purpose of humor.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of online data from the mainstream media in regards to Mr. Norris, this posting seems to have become one of the primary sources of information about the life of this man and his career. The amount of search engine traffic this post receives is ridiculously high. It seems to be the number one “google hit” for “Ed Norris.”

To say that this is unfortunate would be a gross understatement. This posting has little, if any, pertinent information about Mr. Norris. It does not do justice to either his accomplishments or to his failings. I have to admit that I actually feel a little bad about this.

For a better source of information about Edward T. Norris, please follow this link to an article published on May 1, 2005 for the St. Petersburg Times.

And don't read blogs if what you are looking for is accurate information. We suck in that regard.

Ed Norris, Ed Ed Norris, Ed Norris and Jackie C … Busted!!!

If there is one thing that I like more than a good scandal, it’s a good sex scandal. And if there is one thing I like more than a good sex scandal, it’s a sex scandal involving a carpet bagging public official who abandoned our city at first opportunity to take a position as the States' number one traffic cop.

In the press conference announcing the inditement, U.S. Attorney Thomas DiBiagio said that Former Baltimore Police Commissioner Norris had used police officers to “transport female companions in connection with romantic encounters” with at least six different women. That’s hookers, people!!!

And how did he pay for the hookers, you may be asking? He used funds from an “account created from three Depression-era charity funds set up to benefit police officers.” That’s my kind of charity.

And who was watching the streets while these officers were driving hos around for Norris? Don’t worry, these officers weren’t doing this during normal work hours, they were getting paid overtime!

Possible jail time for all infractions: 45 years.

*Update*
Just because I feel a little guilty for reveling in this man's downfall, a link that focuses on his accomplishments. In this Baltimore Sun article, the writer infers that Norris left the Baltimore Police department due to the stress surrounding the investigations into his spending, and was not motivated by feelings of ill will between himself and O'Malley. If this is true, I feel it is only fair to cut the man a little slack. Thievery and Adultary weigh very low on my moral scale, snubbing Baltimore ... very high.
