What annoyed the hell out
July 27, 2003
What annoyed the hell out of me this weekend ….
Could someone please tell me what is “Brooklyn” about selling unwanted crap on your front stoop? Did they also print up irritating t-shirts? While perusing their garbage, would I have to listen to them incessantly overuse and misuse the term “ironic”? Would the boom-box be playing The Strokes, then the White Stripes, then The Stokes, then the White Stripes again?
I have nothing against Brooklyn, but come on. Whoever had this horribly pretentious stroke of idiocy HAS TO BE THE MOST IRRITATING ASS SOUTH AND WEST OF THE WILLIAMSBURG BRIDGE!!!
Face it, you’re having a damn yard sale. Don’t try to sex it up by evoking something you read in Time Out magazine, you phony twerp! Oh yes, and the professional weight bench, that’s really “Brooklyn”, isn’t it? If it was truly “Brooklyn Style”, you’d be selling a used yoga mat.
I would have gone to the YARD SALE to make fun of whoever put this up, but I was scared that they would be wearing 70’s style trucker hat, which would have caused me to either have an aneurysm, or flog them to death with their dog-eared copy of the Hipster Handbook. Neither prospect would have been pretty.
p.s. I just loved the emoticon!!
