On Friday night, I went to my friends' Area 405 Surplus art exhibit. I asked one of them if I could take photographs. He told that not only could I take photographs, but that I was going to be the official photographer, as they had not otherwise arranged for one. It felt kind of good knowing that someone actually had a practical use for my pictures.

On Saturday night I saw a friend that I’m fairly certain will be dead within a month or two. More on that in my next post.

On Sunday morning, while shopping at the farmer’s market, right after politely declining to give a dollar to a pan handler, a gentleman came up to me with a clipboard and asked me if I was interested in signing a petition. I asked him what the petition was for. He told me it was to get Ralph Nader on the Maryland Ballot in the presidential election . So, for the first time in my life, I screamed “GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!” to a complete stranger in the street.

Oh, speaking of Nader, the Bush Administration is considering "postponing" the upcoming elections. Thank you, Nader. Thank you soooo much for throwing away my democracy.

Nader was on the MD ballot in the last presidential election and it didn't make a difference...
Posted by: nm at July 13, 2004 11:42 AMI think it made a huge difference. It was a nation wide campaign. Not a state to state campaign. Yes, Nader did not split the vote in maryland. He split the vote in florida.

Posted by: nm at July 13, 2004 01:50 PMHe. No sweat nm, everyone who know me knows I have massive Nader issues. It's just that I really hate the argument "I live in a blue state so it's save for me to vote for Nader" as though each state is a self-contained bubble and voting trends in one state don't effect the voting trends in other states. They do, which is how Nader (intentionally or unintentionally) ended up handing the reigns of govt to Bush.
Posted by: eebmore at July 13, 2004 02:09 PMright, people who live in the "safe" states (or district) do need to remember that they are impacting what happens in those states that matter.
