My So-Called not too terribly interesting life:

Nothing interesting has happened in the past week. The most exciting thing that I did was buy a coat. Would you like to hear about that? Of course not. Oh yes, I also saw a very good movie. Would you hear me wax idiotic about German Cinema? No? Neither would I. As I’ve said before, I despise blog film critics. If I want to read film criticism, I’ll read an respected critic. There are no Pauline Kael’s in the blogosphere.

But anyway, as I bought the coat in Hampden and had some free time, I decided to stop by Atomic Books and introduce myself to Rachel, as I’ve been a fan of both her blogs for some time. It was really nice meeting her. After ringing up my purchase, she made the oft stated assertion to me, “You need to post more often”, which I think a perfectly valid perception, but I’m still not going to do it.

For some time now, I’ve been meaning to build an ‘about’ page explaining why I only post every week or so. I even took a Big Ham n’ Cheese picture of myself for it:

Truth of the matter is I typically spend a few hours on each one of my posts, I like to mull over them for a couple of days before I write them, and I throw out more than half of them because I don’t feel they’re interesting or entertaining enough to publish (In fact, I really should consider throwing this one away). If I posted more often than I do, this hobby wouldn’t be fun for me at all.

Hopefully, I’ll have time this weekend to reteach myself html and put up that ‘about’ page where I’ll say something along the lines of “If I post less often than once a week, I apologize for my laziness. If I post more often than once a week, for the love of God please help me by taking away my internet privileges.”

With that said, go to Atomic Books, say hi to Rachel and Benn, and spend oodles and oodles of money. I really like their store.
