Norwegian Blue

Update 5/19/05 9:48 am:
I stated earlier in the comment section that I was going to delete some comments in this post to protect my anonyminity, as there were four shots that featured me. I decided against that, as deleting comments is one of my biggest pet peeves, and chose instead to distort delete the photos that featured me.

I’m too exhausted tonight to try to say anything interesting about these shots. A friend of mine had been invited to visit with a friend who owned this insanely rare Brazilian Hyacinth Macaw. He was kind enough to drag me along, under the condition that I bring my camera. The photographs are not particularly ground breaking, but I liked them nonetheless. But I do wish that one asshole in a lot of these shots, the one that desperately needs to wash his hair, hadn’t been too damn stupid to stick his tongue in his mouth every time the camera was pointed at him.
nice to see you posting pix again :-)
Posted by: zenchick at May 15, 2005 11:16 PM Great shots,
Birds a ham.
At first I was like "goddamn Adam got old overnight. He needs to get back to drinking." Then I was like, "whew... no, he's just the one overcompensating on the hair growth to hide the thinning on top."
Trust me brutha, I feel ya.
Posted by: dabrettman at May 16, 2005 11:01 AMheh. I approximate about a year or two until I have no choice but to pull out the clippers. The "overcompensating" you're referring to... well first, you're absolutely right; and second, I like to refer to as my follicle swan song.
*I'll be deleting some of these comments in a couple of days. I don't mind my anonyminity being compromised for the dozen or so people who will see this in the next day or two. But for the historical googlable record, that's just some asshole who can't keep his tongue in his mouth.
Posted by: eebmore at May 16, 2005 11:17 AMHe's got lovely plumage, the Norwegian blue.
Posted by: Neckbone at May 16, 2005 02:21 PMIn the 2nd photo from the bottom ... are you contemplating eating the bird?
Posted by: Malnurtured Snay at May 16, 2005 04:36 PMNice tweed.
sarcasm, jay? You better watch out, or I'll destroy you with my leather elbow pad grip of death, academic style... which is very similar to monkey style... just more insouciant.
Posted by: eebmore at May 16, 2005 05:11 PMNot sarcasm, no way. I forget we've never met in person. Just be careful or I will counter with my unstopable 3-buttons-yet-one-unbuttoned mantis style.
Posted by: jayinbmore at May 16, 2005 06:03 PMSo you were ACTUALLY complimenting my tweed blazer??? Dork.
Posted by: eebmore at May 16, 2005 06:09 PMLooks like he's pining for the fjords.
Posted by: bryan at May 17, 2005 09:14 AMNice photos! (I like the narrow DOF in most of them.)
That's a cool bird, and you look great in the photos too. You look very at ease.
thanks seadragon. you caught them just in time... as I was was editing them to be unrecognizable while you were commenting.
