Anyone better at this movable type crap than me feel like making a little green?

I’ve spent the past two weeks trying to build a photoblog. Everything was coming along very nicely and I was 99% finished. I only had to make minute tweaks to the code, and then something HORRIBLE happened to my code. Everything I try to do to fix the problems shuts down all movable type archiving applications.

I’ve gotten to the point where I have two choices; pay someone to fix the templates that I’ve built, or give up altogether.

Takers?

Many thanks go to Nathan fixing my screw ups and dealing with my whiny-ass bitchy emails. It’s time for a donation to baltiblogs. Unfortunately, PayPal is my nemesis and I’ve deleted her phone number from my speed dial. Nathan and I will have to work something else out.

Also, thanks to Tamara for providing me with the code and explaining to me how the thumbnails thingy works.

Now I have to go use the damn camera... fuck.

If you’ll excuse me, I have no intention of so much as looking at a computer screen for at least a day.

If you're serious about the paying, I'm a taker. :)

I don't know how knowledgeable I am about MT though, so you should only consider me as a last resort. Everything I know about MT I learned through doing my own photoblog. If you don't see it on my photoblog, then I probably don't know how to code it!

I actually recommend that you take a step back from your coding for a little bit because it's probably something relatively simple that's messing it up. (I take it you don't have earlier versions of your code to go back to? What about the original templates?) I remember once screwing up my archives and having no idea what happened, and eventually Nathan had to explain to me that I'd saved over the individual archive template with some other code. I had been so baffled by the mess I saw that I didn't even see that the mistake was simple and easily fixable.

I lied down to take a quick nap at 6pm and woke up at midnight. What the hell are you doing up?

I now have all the original templates, as well as my built templates. I feel like I've been making Nathan's life hell with my daily WTF emails. Unfortunately, the errors in the built templates are multiple fold, and seem to be higher end MTTags ef-ups which have the nasty habit of shutting down all MT archiving (comments won’t publish... individual entries disappear into the ether... except in monthly archiving and that I have no intention of ever using and main index), even after I restore the original templates. Once they shut down, I can’t do anything to them until after Nathan resets something which turns my archiving back on. Then I try to fix my code, *BOOM*... back to square one, restore all the original templates, which will not work, as the archiving is shut down, and wait for Nathan. etc, etc..........

Two weeks of work and I'm fit to be tied. It's time for this amataur to throw in the towel and pay someone with a strong understanding of MT tags to fix my s*it.

But on a positive note, the code you provided for my for thumbnails worked beautifully ...for a while.
