NO SUBJECT pretty much sums it up

Just to let you all know, I’ve written about half a dozen entries in the past three days and have erased all of them. I just wrote an entry about that, and then erased it.

I’ve got some major blahs and can’t stop second guessing myself. Every time I write something, I look back at it and say to myself “God, you’re a smug prick,” or “What makes you so damn special that your opinion really matters?”

It’s not as if I’m even down on myself at the moment. I’ve just been obsessed lately with how irritating self-assurance can be in others, and as I try to filter out the same qualities from my own thoughts I’m pretty much left with nothing to say.

Well, that’s a humbling thought.

Oh well. I suck, you suck, we all suck... hooray! Maybe tomorrow I won’t care so much, post a picture of some newly discovered body part or mole or something that will make me laugh to myself and all will be right in the universe again.

I did just discover a couple of new hairs on my back that weren’t there last year. Maybe I do something with that?

It has to do with brand of smugness. yours is infinitely entertaining.

anyway, that's kind of the point, isn't it? you tell us a story, and exactly what you think of so-and-so, and there's your post. if we didn't give a shit about your opinion we wouldn't bother reading it.

My apologies. What term would he have preferred? i suppose I could have differentiated him from his cohorts by referring to him as the gentleman with abundant thighs?

Oh, he's the burnt-sianna one. I thought the one with the healthy physique who does most of the talking was the one you were talking about. You can just call him the fat-ass. I suppose i should give them names. who knew when I started this hobby that it would eventually degenerate into an only slightly more mature version of Barbie and GI Joe?

You could always just have "open threads". You know, post a topic like "how much you all suck - discuss" and let everyone discuss it.

heh. I would never say such a thing.

I think what is driving me crazy is the suchandsuchexplainsitall.com format so prevalent out there. the whole "I'm a genius and I'm surrounded by idiots, and let me explain why...." It really is incredible how many geniuses out there have to live their lives surrounded by idiots, and how every genius seems to have his/her own weblog. And see, here is me doing the exact same thing. urgh! I'm having a hell of a time typing while I'm punching myself in the face.
