So why haven’t I been posting lately? My anonyminity has become so decidedly unanonymous that I can’t so much as recite the alphabet without betraying or offending someone. Can’t talk about work. People I want to mock the f**k out of know I’m doing this now. God knows I can’t talk about family members.

And the personal life? Ha! I’ve got more than another four months of the monastic-like self imposed recalibration thing before I can even think about rebuilding one of those. Wanna know what the most exciting thing going on in my life right now? Eating oranges. Oranges have become the sunshine of my life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m infinitely happier now; but this is one seriously boring life to any outside observer, no matter how I try to package it.

And stuffs on the internet? Surfing on the internet has almost been completely supplanted with surfing the wikipedia. Instead of piles upon piles of bullshit interspersed with occasional bits of interesting or useful information, the ‘pedia has piles upon piles of interesting information interspersed with occasional bits of bullshit. Wikipedia is more addictive than porn, but not nearly as interesting or conveyable to the outside observer. Want to hear about the significance of the Posse Comitatus Act in relation to the Federal response to the New Orleans crisis? Or the evolution of the rhotic R in American Vernacular English? I didn’t think so.

And sharing my personal views on current events, pop culture, movies, etc.? Personal views and opinions, either my own or others, increasingly seem to me to be worthless and irrelevant. Everyone seems to think they’re objective, and it seems to me that everyone just twists and molds their objectivity to feed their own subjective demons.

“Red State” “Blue State” “You’re evil” “I’m good” “You’re stupid” “I’m smart” Blow me. I’m sick of listening to all of it; and I’m sure I sound just as irritating when I choose to shut off my mind enough to develop and voice a supposedly objective opinion.

I’m sure this has always been true. Nothing ever changes. People will always be human, will always deserve sympathy, will always suck, will always assume that they are right and everyone else is wrong, will always be greedy, will always look beyond themselves to find “answers” that will comfort both their lesser angels and better demons, etc. etc. etc. etc.......

Perhaps I’ll re-anonymize myself with a new web presence. Perhaps I won’t. Maybe I’m just in a funk and tomorrow I’ll be overwhelmed with loads of stuff to share.
