So, I’ve finally decided to take the leap and get a tattoo on the side of my neck. The only problem is I can’t decide what sort of tattoo to get. Although nothing spells winner like a cursive rendering of my woman’s name in prisonesque calligraphy, there are just so many other fantastic options I find myself unable to pinpoint what sort of image best captures my inner spirit.

Shall I go for a simple Celtic pattern? I mean, generations of my maternal ancestors would be so honored. Or should I express my solidarity with the aboriginal peoples of the world with a classic Maori tribal pattern? Maybe the insignia of my favorite nü-metal band, identifying myself as a true Apollonian and lover of the arts? Perhaps, since I’m of mostly caucasian ancestry, gothic lettering declaring the my pride for my proto Indo-European origins is the way to go?

Of course, I could be thinking about this in completely the wrong way. It would surely be shortsighted of me to not consider my future when considering this decision. If I ever make the leap to the professional class, what sort of neck tattoo would benefit any aspirations I may develop to climb the corporate ladder? What are the more popular neck tattoo designs in the board rooms today? I wouldn’t want to get something that would ultimately clash with a white-collar or a smart necktie, now would I?

I hate to fish for your opinions, but I would love to hear your views on this subject. And ladies, I am especially interested in your input. God knows that I would love to increase my desirability with whatever design I ultimately decide upon. So please, tell me, what do you think?
