Last night a friend of mine and I had vague plans to catch The Confederate States of America.

For those of you not familiar with the movie, and are getting your panties twisted up in a bunch because you think I’m some sort of countrified southern loving revisionist segregation apologist Shelby Foote knob slobbing bigot, the movie is a farcical mocumentary produced by Spike Lee, so get over yourselves.

I mention that the plans were vague because he has children and a wife and his ability to get away from them for a few brief liberating moments of freedom was dependent on whether the hen is willing to loosen his shackles for a couple of hours. We made the plans with an understanding that there was a 50/50 chance he would have to cancel.

Yesterday, at around five, he called me:

*ring ring*
eebmore: Hello?
we’ll call him Lou: Hey, it’s Lou. I can’t see the movie tonight.
eebmore: That’s cool. What came up?
we’ll call him Lou: Mike is starting a sex ed class and I have to go to some school meeting about it.
eebmore: ???
eebmore: What, do you have to go so you can see what the curriculum covers so you can make sure the course material isn’t offensive to you and your family?
we’ll call him Lou: Yeah, something like that.
eebmore: That’s just stupid.
we’ll call him Lou: Yeah, I know. Hopefully there’ll be some hot MILFs there to check out so I won’t be too bored.
eebmore: Hey, can you do me a favor and take some pictures of them with your phone camera and send them to me? So I can, well... you know.
we’ll call him Lou: Yeah, sure, no problem.
eebmore: Thanks man. Later.
we’ll call him Lou: Later.

*click*

Fucker still hasn't sent me any phone cam picks.

I’m probably going to catch the movie tonight. Most likely alone, since I have no friends anymore (which I’m strangely okay with). But if any of you both who I don’t hate feel like catching the South rising again farcically, send me an email.

I have to admit, I was quite surprised to see you in the foodstuffs armpit that is Eddie’s of Mt. Vernon. I’ve always thought of you as more of a Eddie’s of Roland Park or Wegman’s type of person.

Oh pshaw. It's walking distance to home, and it beats the hell out of the Save A Lot that's two blocks from me. For picking up neccessities and grabbing something quick for dinner - you can't beat it.

Besides, the clientele is always interesting! :-)

ah, i blew it off and watched lost with my cat instead, because my social life rocks. next week, perhaps; but you have to promise not to cry like you did when you saw boys of baraka. we'll look like we're on a date as it is.

it looks like epiph is on spring break this week. although we haven't been in contact in any way other than this comment string, as far as I can see, his schedule seems to be unusually open. Tuesday is the only night I have off. So, if either or both of you are free on tuesday, and are still interested, perhaps we should make plans to go see it.
