This paragraph from the Baltimore Crime Blog captures perfectly why the Cybrarian is hands down my all time favorite Baltimore Blogger:

The Sun's new columnist debuted today, uses "I" 42 times, calls Bmorians "provincial," compares self to Meg Ryan, speculates movie will be made about her life.

And in other Sun News, in typical fashion, The Tribune Company is closing the Sun’s Moscow and Johannesburg bureaus and folding its Middle East correspondent into the Tribune’s Foreign network, while leaving the foreign bureaus of the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune in tact.

I’m not saying the Baltimore Sun has ever been a good paper for as long as I’ve lived here (although I've been told tragically wonderful things about its history); but one thing is for sure, on the quality-to-crap-O-meter, the needle is pointing further and further in the wrong direction every day.

isn't she awful!? And as if there aren't any good writers who are also Baltimore natives (and as if there wasn't actual information and news that could go in that spot). It offends me, it really does. The Chandler family doesn't want to be in the news business. So sell the papers to someone who cares already!

yes, I'm a big fan of you and your blog; but man do I hate your commenters. jesus, what a bunch of freaks. ;)

and yes, if that column is an indicator of things to come, she is awful. perhaps, hopefully, it was just a little "get to know me" fluff column, but I doubt it. it was a disaster, and I fear a harbinger of things to come for her column. I think after living here for 19 years, it shouldn't read like she just moved here three weeks ago.
