Tonight, writers, producers and cast members of The Wire will be signing copies of the newly released season III at Sound Garden. Of course, there isn’t a chance in hell of me standing in line so someone can Sharpie scribble on a DVD box set for me. If G-d himself was signing copies of the Torah at the local Barnes and Noble, I wouldn’t bother standing in line for that either. Structured celebrity encounters do not make me wet; but I am excited about the release of season III and will be buying it within the next week or two (but not at Sound Garden. Indy-tude is one of my biggest banes. I’ll probably be purchasing it at a giant, soulless national chain where the clerks have better things to do with their time than expressively pass judgment on me.). Seasons of The Wire are the only television box sets that I do and must own. The Wire makes me very wet. It is simply the only television drama that matters. And yes, I’m biased.

HBO has finally updated The Wire site to feature trailers, interactives, interviews and behind the scenes footage for season IV, which will be starting on September 10th. From what I’ve seen so far, I’m more excited about this season than I’ve been for any of the seasons past. I need to make up some serious ass kissing time to my friends who subscribe to HBO.
